Bio

Andrea Kroenig is a native of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and attended Albright College in nearby Reading to study Chemistry and German. During college she also took acrylic painting classes which solidified her art and drawing interests.

After moving to Texas and finishing a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Texas A&M University Andrea spent a year in Indianapolis and Denver, then returned to the East Coast in 1998 to follow a creative career path.  She studied representational painting classes at the Yard School at Montclair Art Museum for several years under Master Pastelist Alex Picarillo.

Simultaneously she was employed at Mehron, Inc in NY creating Halloween and special effects face and body-paints and later at Revlon formulating eyeshadow and foundation makeups.  This focus on creativity partnered with her interest in color pigments and working along side make-up artists influenced her focus on portrait skintones, highlights and shadows. It also reinforced her experimental perspective in working with mixed media in her painting.

Andrea pivoted her career to fragrance in 2005 and moved to Hoboken, NJ.  She currently has her painting studio at Monroe Center, a former factory building, and works in Manhattan. She’s attended FIT and Art Students League studio courses and has been the recipient of several patents in the beauty industry. Andrea has been included in group and solo art shows in New Jersey and New York and has work in private collections.
